Announcing The Dedina Lynn Smalls Scholarship Fund

In honor of my mother, Dedina Lynn Smalls and #givingtuesday, I created The Dedina Lynn Smalls Scholarship Fund today and I can't be more excited about continuing my mother's legacy in our communities.

The Dedina Lynn Smalls Scholarship Fund is a merit and leadership based scholarship that recognizes and awards students who are driven to excel in the classroom as well as on the athletic field. Students will be awarded the scholarship through application and a review process that assesses financial need, academic standing, outstanding leadership skills, and a spirit of sportsmanship. The scholarship is open to all students and will award small grants annually.

Founded in 2021 in honor of my mother, the late Dedina Lynn Smalls, the scholarship perpetuates her legacy of a passionate love for life, family, and the common good of humanity. Teaching these values to her children so that they can become leaders and educators in the community was a driving point during the life of the loving and generous Mrs. Smalls.
